How We Work Together

My coaching approach is rooted in both modern science and ancient wisdom traditions. This work is holistic — honoring your body, mind, heart, spirit, sexuality, and relationships as interconnected dimensions of your whole self. Together, we'll create a path that honors your unique experience, your values, and your desires.

The Foundation: Safety and Trust

Before we dive into practices or explore vulnerable territory, we build a foundation of safety and trust. This is sacred work, and it requires a container that feels solid and supportive. I bring my training as a nurse and midwife to this — I know how to hold space for people during their most tender moments. Together we can create an environment where healing becomes possible.

You set the pace. You decide what feels right to explore and when. My role is to walk alongside you, offering tools, perspective, and support as you reconnect with your own innate wisdom and capacity.

Understanding Where You Are

We begin by exploring what you most desire — not just in your intimate life, but in the full experience of being alive. What would it feel like to actually inhabit your life rather than manage it from a slight distance? To feel genuinely present with the people you love most? To have your body feel like home again?

Your desires become our compass, pointing us toward what is possible for you. Then we gently investigate the dynamics, patterns, and beliefs that have kept you from experiencing what you long for. This is not about blame or judgment — it is about understanding. Often the patterns that feel limiting now were once protective. They helped you survive difficult circumstances, navigate relationships when you did not have other tools, or keep functioning through seasons of life that asked everything of you.

Through this exploration, you will begin to see yourself with greater clarity and compassion. You will recognize that you are not broken — you are a human being who developed very intelligent coping strategies in response to your experiences. And now, at this point in your life, you have the opportunity to choose what still serves you and what you are ready to release.

The Path of Transformation

This work is not about fixing what is broken. It is about uncovering the wholeness, beauty, and aliveness that already live within you — qualities that may have been covered over by life's heaviness, past experiences, or messages you internalized along the way.

Transformation happens through:

Awareness — Noticing what is actually happening in your body, emotions, and relationships without immediately trying to change it. This is where healing begins — in the simple act of seeing and acknowledging what is.

Integration — Bringing together the different parts of yourself with curiosity and love. When we can welcome all aspects of our experience, even the uncomfortable ones, we create space for genuine wholeness.

Embodiment — Moving from intellectual understanding into lived experience. This is where lasting change happens — not just knowing something in your mind, but feeling it in your body and expressing it in your life.

Practice — Engaging with concrete tools and practices that support your ongoing growth. These are not just things we do in sessions — they are practices you take with you, weaving them into your daily life.

What Becomes Possible

Through our work together, clients often experience:

Coming Home to Their Bodies — Reconnecting with sensation, presence, and the aliveness that has been there all along. Landing in the body rather than managing life from the head. Learning to inhabit yourself rather than perform yourself.

Reclaiming Pleasure and Desire — Discovering that desire does not have to be forced or manufactured. When the nervous system feels safe and the body feels resourced, desire returns naturally. Pleasure becomes available not just in sexual contexts but as a quality of aliveness woven through everyday life.

Wholeness and Authenticity — Reclaiming a sense of yourself as whole, alive, and real. Coming home to who you truly are beneath the layers of conditioning and protection.

Release of Patterns of Over-Giving — Recognizing and gently releasing the ways you have abandoned yourself in service of others — the over-functioning, the caretaking, the disappearing of your own needs. Learning to give from overflow rather than depletion.

Emotional Freedom — Healing emotional wounds that have kept you from feeling safe, worthy, and capable of deep connection. Cultivating the capacity to feel your full range of emotions without being overwhelmed by them.

Deeper Intimacy and Partnership — Building the capacity for meaningful connection and intimacy in your relationships. Moving from co-management back toward genuine partnership. Being truly seen, and truly seeing the person you love.

Personal Power and Self-Love — Connecting with your inherent worth and power. Developing genuine self-love that is not dependent on external validation or how much you produce for others.

Healing from Sexual Shame, Fear, or Disconnection — Moving through the shame, fear, or pain that may be keeping you from experiencing pleasure and connection. This includes addressing how past experiences, cultural or religious messages, or the particular weight of midlife and motherhood have shaped your relationship with your sexuality.

Thriving Across All Dimensions — Experiencing greater aliveness emotionally, physically, sexually, spiritually, and relationally. This work touches everything — because intimacy is woven through all aspects of life, and when one dimension comes alive, it ripples through the rest.

The Tools We Use

Depending on what serves your goals and feels right for you, we may work with:

Somatic Practices

Your body holds wisdom your conscious mind does not have access to in everyday life. It also holds the imprints of your experiences — the protective tensions you developed, the places where pleasure got shut down, the residue of memories stored in your tissues.

Somatic practices work with the wisdom of your body to develop awareness of sensations and aliveness, release protective patterns held in your musculature and nervous system, heal through direct body experience rather than just talking about experiences, expand your capacity to feel sensation and pleasure, and integrate new experiences at a body level so change actually lasts.

Breathwork

Your breath is one of the most powerful tools available for shifting your state, accessing deeper awareness, and creating change. Breath connects your conscious mind with your autonomic nervous system — the part of you that regulates stress, safety, and aliveness.

Through breathwork, we shift your nervous system from states of stress or shutdown into presence and aliveness, access deeper layers of awareness and sensation in your body, release tension or stuck energy, expand your capacity to feel pleasure and connection, and move through emotional blocks with greater ease.

Parts Work — Internal Family Systems

We all have different parts of ourselves — protectors who try to keep us safe, wounded parts carrying pain from the past, parts that feel confident or scared or exhausted from years of running the show. Through parts work, we explore the different aspects of yourself with curiosity and compassion, understand what each part is trying to protect or accomplish, help burdened parts release what they have been carrying, and connect with your essential Self — the centered, compassionate presence at your core.

This approach recognizes that you are not one monolithic being — you are a beautifully complex system. When your parts feel heard and respected, they can relax, and you experience greater internal harmony and freedom.

Energy Work — Neo Tantra and Taoist Practices

Beyond your physical body, you are also an energetic being. Drawing from Neo Tantra and Taoist traditions, we explore cultivating and circulating life force energy through your body, working with energy centers to release blocks and enhance flow, and connecting with the spiritual dimensions of sexuality and intimacy.

These practices are not about believing in any particular system — they are about direct experience. When you learn to work with your energy, you access dimensions of pleasure, connection, and aliveness that purely physical approaches cannot reach.

Emotional Liberation Practices

Our emotions carry wisdom, and they also carry energy that needs to move through us. When emotions get stuck — often because we learned it was not safe to feel or express them — they create blocks in our bodies and our relationships.

Emotional liberation practices help you identify and name what you are actually feeling, create safety to feel emotions fully in your body, move through stuck emotional energy, and develop the capacity to be with difficult emotions without being overwhelmed. This is about developing a healthy relationship with your emotional experience — allowing feelings to arise, move through you, and complete their natural cycle.

Mindfulness and Presence Practices

So much of disconnection comes from living in our heads — replaying the past or managing the future. Presence practices help you arrive fully in the here and now, where life is actually happening. We work with developing awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and sensations as they arise, bringing mindful awareness into your intimate experiences, and learning to notice when you have left the present moment and how to return. Presence is the foundation for intimacy. When you can be fully here, you can actually meet yourself and the people you love.

How Sessions Work

Each session is tailored to you — where you are, what you need, and what you are ready to explore. Sessions are 50 minutes and typically include a combination of conversation, experiential practices, and time to integrate what emerges. Between sessions, I may offer practices for you to explore on your own — not as homework, but as invitations to continue the work of reconnecting with yourself.

What This Requires of You

This work asks something of you. It asks for:

Courage — To look at what has been difficult or painful. To try practices that might feel unfamiliar or vulnerable. To open yourself to the possibility that things can be different.

Commitment — Transformation does not happen in one session. It is a journey that unfolds over time as you practice, integrate, and discover new layers of yourself.

Curiosity — A willingness to explore with openness rather than already knowing how things should be. A gentle, investigative approach to your own experience.

Compassion — The capacity to meet yourself with kindness as you uncover painful places or recognize patterns you wish were different. This is not about self-judgment — it is about self-love.

Honesty — Being truthful with yourself and with me about your experience. This work flourishes in authenticity.

My Commitment to You

I bring to this work my background as a registered nurse and midwife, my Master of Science in Nursing in Midwifery and Women's Health, my training in Internal Family Systems, and my certification as a Sex, Love, and Relationships Coach through Layla Martin's VITA program, completed March 2026. I bring 20 years of holding space for people during life's most vulnerable moments. And I bring my own lived experience of transformation — as a mother, a partner, a woman who has walked this path and knows the territory from the inside.

This is your journey. I am here as a guide and support, not to impose my beliefs or push you where you are not ready to go. What we discuss stays between us. I hold your trust as sacred.

Taking the First Step

If you are feeling called to this work, trust that. Your inner wisdom is pointing you toward something important.

You do not need to have everything figured out. You do not need to be ready enough or healed enough to begin. You just need to take one step — reaching out, having a conversation about what you are experiencing and what you are longing for.

From there, we will discover together what is possible for you.

I would be honored to walk alongside you on this journey home to yourself.
